Welcome to the New Face of The Net Fool… Jimvesting dot com!
Author: Jim | Filed under: AnnouncementsCome one come all… the Net Fool is now JIMVESTING!
We’re transitioning our old blog located at The Net Fool to our brand new website at Jimvesting.com! Why the sudden change? Well there were plenty of pressures pushing me toward re-branding, and I think there are going to be numerous benefits involved with making the switch. Sure, there will be an initial knee-jerk reaction to switching over cold turkey, but it is a move that needs to be made!
Major Advantages of Moving to Jimvesting Dot Com:
- “Jimvesting” is a more recognizable/brandable name than “The Net Fool”
- The added professionalism provided by the Jimvesting name will add to the overall credibility of the site’s content
- Our new theme will allow for more streamlined content, better monetization and a renewed focus on content quality over aesthetics
- A fresh new look should encourage a renewed surge in participation and interest. The old theme & brand had gotten a bit tired… and Jimvesting.com is a great solution to start things up again!

One of the biggest changes here is dropping the old theme and adding this new one. I think that I will be selling the rights to the old theme, as it seemed to be quite popular. However, I think that one of the disadvantages of that theme was that it took too long to load and see the actual content — the header was so large you could hardly see the first post when you loaded up the page!
Our new theme, based on a design from ProductiveDreams.com, lets you see the first post as SOON as you load up the page. There is plenty of advertising room to work with, and there is much more of a social media presence all across the site. As the web is evolving, we want to move with it… so while the old theme was certainly “fun,” Jimvesting’s new look will allow us to deliver a better experience and Search Engine Optimized performance. The advantages are real, and the design is still just as slick, sexy and original!
Welcome to the new website, let us know what you think below!

Good luck with the new blog Jim.. Personally, I really dug your old theme, and this theme is a bit dark for my tastes..
I considered Imprezz awhile back for a project I was working on, but at the end of the day, I just couldn’t get past the odd placement of the darker sidebar.
But knowing you, I’m sure you’ll continue tweaking the theme over time, and I’ll grow to love it.

Looks like the auction when I sell off the old template should draw a crowd then, eh? Maybe I could even give the thing away in a contest? Hmmmmm….
Maybe you could give away as part of that stimulus package…!
Best of luck Jim.
I loved The Net Fool, as I’m sure I’ll love this blog too. Will you be bringing all the old posts from TFN and archive them here for our viewing?
Thanks

I don’t get the meaning of the name change. Your blog never had much to do with investing. It was more like finding all sorts of ways to make money around the net, hence the name “the net fool”. And good luck with seo, I hope youre aware that thenetfool.com had 11,000 yahoo registered backlinks.

I do not think there was any need of change but well if think it was needed then well and good.
I kind of do not like this theme. I do not get the feel. May be I will get accustomed to it.
I hope success remains with you.

There was a legal need to change, obviously I would have loved to just sell it off and move on instead of giving it to someone else folks
All the posts are already here for your viewing pleasure, and over the next few weeks we’ll hopefully be getting all of our SEO back in action
Change is great. At one point, I had changed the template of one of my other blogs and my traffic suddenly surged. Good luck!

I’ve been following TNF for almost a year now. What a great change! Honestly, Jimvesting is more appropriate in the direction you’re now taking.
Good luck, Jim.

Jim what about giving away the theme for free, with some links to your new site in the footer. Win-win :p

Jim – I’m so sorry but I more than hate it. It looks cheap and nasty, it’s hard to navigate, the column in the left cuts off the first few characters of each line so I can’t even read your posts; loads of red (always a no-no because anyone colour blind would find a really dull website).
Whatever possessed you ? Sack yourself or the guy who designed it and produce something classy and user firendly that reflects the quality of your writings and your contributions to the world of business and internet.
No no Jim – get rid of this and fast.
ya i am also feeling the same jim , this theme looks very cheap and nasty. nothing is good..
please change it .and your old blog is better than this..:)

Love the new design and the rebrand. I was wondering who this new commentator on my blog was and then when I got here realised it was you! I really like how it has pushed the content right to the top!

Jim,
New logo looks great but the branding behind the old design made it stand out more / was more memorable (I think).
Also you should have redirected your feeds using the feedburner redirection because you may loose a few regulars when they get a 404 error.

Hi Jim,
Although I’m still new to your community and can’t comment whether your new design is better than your old design, I do want to congratulate you for taking a bold step forward.
Success to you!

You tard, this “theme” wasn’t based on another, you used a pre-made theme. I’ve seen this on a few websites. All you did was change the header and footer. Using a pre-made theme is fine, but don’t try and say you did the design “based on another theme”.
@JackyD
Trolling is prohibited here….. and by the way, calling someone ‘tard’ isn’t the nicest thing to do, not when you’re in someone else’s turf…..
Be nice, pal. What goes around, comes around….

I know I wasn’t shy in saying what I didn’t like (and still don’t) about this theme Jim but I’m not going to sit back and let someone call you a tard – that’s way way out of line AND not justified. So you fixed up a pre made theme and said it was based on another theme – whatMs the problem it’s not like yuo claimed it as your design. Sorry Jacky – big thumbs down here.

I appreciate the feedback! I may look over the next few weeks to change the theme back to a blur of the two themes since people seemed to really enjoy the other one. I got tired of looking at the header all day, but I suppose not everyone is refreshing my page all day
No need to give Jacky any undue traffic
I appreciate the defense though
BBBOOOO!!!! I think TheNetFool was pretty brandable as well… but since you’re not going to do anything with that one, how about you pass it along to me!
I mean, I could have purchased the domain when you let it drop a while back.
