Jimvesting's Christmas Giveaway Results! Who Made Out Like A Bandit?

Author: Jim | Filed under: Announcements

It’s 2009!
… but more importantly, the end of another great month of making money in style. ;)

As a part of my most recent promotion, Jimvesting.com partnered up with Market Leverage, one of the leading affiliate marketing firms, to bring you a blockbuster December contest asking for your input. In Jimvesting’s “Christmas Giveaway,” we asked for your advice on different ways to make money online using an affiliate network like Market Leverage. Accordingly, we had some great entries and even some linked blog posts that were absolutely spectacular. I want to thank everyone first and foremost for participating, because we had a lot of tips shared back and forth.

So what does the winner get?

The winner, to be announced very shortly, will recieve their choice of a Flip Mino HD or an Apple iPod Nano for FREE! This was a great opportunity for a little “Christmas bonus” of sorts, eh? Despite my consistent nagging, we had less than 15 people actually enter the thing… making everyone’s odds that much better at winning the big prize. What’s more? The winner that I pick from this blog will be automatically entered in a second pool of all the winners from other blogs holding this contest to win a special prize package from Market Leverage. This Grand Prize package will be given to the top three finishers, and includes awesome stuff like an Amazon Kindle, an iTunes Gift Card and even a prepaid debit! All of this was made possible to you readers by Market Leverage, so be sure to say thanks to them!

As the directions revealed, I will be choosing the winner according to who I think did the best job… from as objective a glance as I can possibly manage. Effectively, I wanted to pick the person who wrote something that I feel would best represent our blog in the larger Market Leverage Grand Prize raffle, right? Let’s get into the results!

The Results

As I hinted at before, we had some fantastic entries and it was VERY hard to pick just one. Some people wrote entire lengthy blog posts about the competition… whereas others had a simple paragraph or two with some good advice. I decided to pick the entry that gave, in my opinion, the most unique approach to making money online. Additionally, and I am sorry to everyone that spent a while writing out a lengthy response, I decided to go with an entry that was a bit more quick and precise in telling you what to do, and how to do it.

Without further delay, here is the winning post! I will contact you immediately asking for your choice of Apple iPod Nano or Flip Mino HD… and you will be notified about the bigger contest pool.

“There are always people jumping the bandwagon to sell products/services of the established affiliate marketers. One of the best ways to get around this constant uphill struggle is to leverage other people and their hard work. There are ways to profit from this “publicity stunt”:

1. When a new product is launched online, there will always be a period of huge search volumes. These searches come from people using all sorts of keywords to find the products and does their buyer research before handing over their cash. This is a great opportunity to get in front of these people as the new products are released to the market, and this works particularly well as keywords relating to new products have less competition in the search engines.

2. Secondly, you can make money off other successful marketers indirectly. This is done by looking at how they are making money and modeling their system. All you need to do is examine how they are making money and model your own business around a similar process (do not copy other people’s work however, as this could land you in court).

3. Post comments and add content to big sites. Spreading your content around the web is one of the most effective ways to get more traffic, but to truly take advantage of the success of others, your aim to get your content found on the big traffic sites where your target audience hangs out.”
- David, DailyDollarReport.com

A big congratulations to David from Daily Dollar Report for writing that excellent bit on what he refers to as “publicity stunt marketing.” I would definitely agree that latching onto “hype” products can be a great way to make loads of cash in the short term. I’ve seen it done in a variety of ways… but David definitely gave us a fantastic 3-step plan to deliver the big bucks. Congratulations!

A Small Constellation Prize!

Again, I wanted to thank everyone for entering… you should all give yourselves a big pat on the back. While I can’t link to everyone, I wanted to give a bit of link love to some of the other especially well written entries. Melvin from MelvinBlog.com put in for an awesome article on affiliate marketing with email submits. Another solid approach was given by Play Games Win Prizes from PinkyArcade.com, who wrote all about a contrarian approach to making money online by, essentially, ignoring what the pros are doing! Finally, Franklin Bishop ran down an awesome and in depth walkthrough to making money online through blogging. Well written stuff and extremely useful!

Keep up with the positive attitude to making money through the internet. There are tons of ways to accomplish an income from your computer, so keep up the creativity in all of your ideas.. and you’ll be sure to strike it rich. ;)

    Jim,
You blog is becoming a portal for finding great advice. I’ve been getting some significant traffic from writing about newer companies that are just developing a web presence. This is getting me pretty high up on google for these less competitive searches.
